“With respect to our roots, vision and knowledge, we aim to create unique wines.”

The Moinoterra winery is located in Archanes in the land where the history of Cretan wine began and wine has been produced for over 4,000 years.

And it is precisely the Minoan civilization that inspires the company, both in name and symbol.

Μoinoterra means the land of Minos, king of ancient Knossos and the Minoan civilization, but also contains ‘oino‘, the word for ‘wine’ in Greek.

In Archanes, among the hills where vines have always been grown, Moinoterra takes up the thread of the history of wine and brings it up to the present day with the aim of producing wines that express their place of origin.

Moinoterra produces only a limited number of bottles starting from the main varieties (Kotsifali, Mantilari, Vilana, Moschato Spinas) produced from the Archanes vineyards that it considers special every year or from experimental winemaking with different varieties that are always found in Archanes.

Each of the wines has its own unique identity that expresses the special characteristics of this place.

With organic cultivation, minimal interventions in the production process and the low use of sulphites, the Moinoterra winery gets the best from nature and can guarantee the maximum quality of its wines.

Furthermore, with a view to sustainable development, so that the land can continue to be fertile and healthy in the future, Moinoterra is committed to carrying out each phase with full respect for the environment.
